About This Athlete

This is my fourth year competing in the CrossFit Games and the second with my wife Cherie. Together we train at CrossFit Verve in downtown Denver. We're surrounded by supportive and amazing people and we wouldn't be competing in the 2011 CrossFit Games without them. I am a firefighter at North Metro Fire just north of Denver. In addition to being a trainer at CrossFit Verve, I am also on the CrossFit HQ Seminar Staff. Recreationally, I like to rock climb, mountain bike, and ski. I don't have any kids, but I do have two wonderful labs - Bosley and Roxy.

Its nice to hear about another crossfit competitor that loves to ski. I think that being an avid skier gives him an advantage. I think that athletes that are willing to put on ski jackets and use every muscle in their body to ski, have a better chance at performing better in the CrossFit challenges.
