About This Athlete
I knew crossfit was my lifelong passion before I steped foot into a crossfit box! When crossfit was explained to me...by a firefighter, who said she could not finish her first intro class, I immediately called the crossfit box. I have never looked back, however, I have looked into the puke bucket many times. I will continue my love hate, and love it! I am a paramedic partime, and train at crossfit altitude. I have a family of 4 boys and a daughter in law, 3 of my children plus friends are here to support me...go to the beach, and see disneyland.
You're going to kick butts in wod2, you seem to be the perfect athletic type for that wod ... me, I was so hoping for 3x300lbs deadlifts, instead of 9x100lbs ... push-ups are going to kill me ! will be doing it on saturday, good luck to you this week !
Posted at 7:57 AM PDT on March 30, 2011Just tried wod1 again ... tiny improvement of 8 reps ... still choking very much on the du's (snatches at that weight are relatively easy for me and unbroken) ... much respect to you and anybody else who beat me ... cheers
Posted at 9:39 AM PDT on March 26, 2011I know a bunch of people from other crossfit gyms in Montreal who really improved their scores on the 2nd try, and then some who did not, a bit of luck there with the du's misses maybe. Unfortunately, given the 'spirit' of the open, i.e. anybody can try them anywhere, I really don't think there will be any rowing, too bad for me, ... but I don't think there will be any running either (too hard to judge) so that would be good for me. I don't know who else is competing from our region besides the ones already posting, but regions do not matter for the masters ranking, only the top 20 worldwide make it straight to the games, so not a big issue what our ranking is within our region (except for the pride of claiming the very prestigious fittest 50-54 female in Ontario or in Quebec, ha ha). I know some of the games competitors from last year have not posted yet, some I'm expecting big scores still to show up. Indeed, still some bugs in the website, as I get ranked dead last in the regional ranking and in the overall ranking ! Well, I might end up there anyway as soon as there is an intense bodyweight workout, ha ha. Btw, if you like, feel free to email me at my university of montreal email, easy to find on the web.
Posted at 7:17 PM PDT on March 23, 2011You really have nothing to loose if you try it again? so go for it. I am undecided if I will give it another go...that was my first attempt, and what I understand is that everyone who has done it more than once has really increased there score. So at this point I'm working a lot of night shifts, so might not get it in? If I feel rested and have the energy I just might....whatever we are still in a good order for our region, at least to date? Do you know if everyone from our region has submitted?
Posted at 6:21 PM PDT on March 23, 2011Hello again, great job on Wod 1! I'm trying to convince my coaches to let me have another try at it ... Unlike you, I have so many goats, I really want to make the best of those wods without any of my many weaknesses (i.e. anything body weight !) ... are you going to try it again or stick with your already excellent score ?
Posted at 9:00 AM PDT on March 23, 2011Hello Anne Marie (or do you prefer Banana ?), I checked your trainer's profile at your box ... awesome pic and credentials, you're going to rock those open's wods - best luck to you and let it be squat then :-D !
